My Story
I’m Meaghan Doran, and my journey has been one of seeking purpose, healing, and service. My story intertwines with my 20-year-old min pin mix, Killer, who has been my loyal companion through life’s ebbs and flows.
Originally, my life revolved around sustainability and business. I earned an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise and believed that aligning business with the environment was my purpose. I worked in nonprofits and government sectors, building programs, overseeing sustainability initiatives, and even coaching girls' lacrosse. But despite all these accomplishments, I found myself caught in cycles of burnout, disconnected from my deeper self.
A pivotal moment came when I visited South Africa as part of an entrepreneurship program. Immersed in the vibrant culture and spirituality of Cape Town, I encountered perspectives that shifted my worldview. One story, in particular, stayed with me: a woman’s act of giving her last piece of bread to a neighbor. That profound act of community and abundance sparked something in me—a desire to find my own purpose.
Years later, I felt the call to slow down and reconnect with myself. My spiritual awakening unfolded gradually, beginning with yoga and mindfulness to cope with personal challenges, including the stress of supporting my grandmother through her health issues. A deeper shift occurred around my 40th birthday. I found myself in the woods with my friends during the pandemic, and the stillness awakened something within me—a calling to heal.
Life nudged me further when I experienced mold toxicity in my home, forcing me to leave. I moved to Washington, where I immersed myself in modalities that resonated with me: Reiki, Sound Healing, Yin Yoga, and Shamanic Energy Medicine. I even worked with a dog channeler, who planted the seed of learning energy work when she mentioned that my hands brought comfort to Killer.
As I deepened my studies, including training with The Four Winds Society in Shamanic Energy Medicine, I experienced profound personal healing. I came to understand that energy imbalances, if left unresolved, can manifest as mental, emotional, or physical ailments. Clearing my own energetic field became a cornerstone of my well-being.
I’ve since relocated to South Carolina, where I’ve cultivated a relationship with the Atlantic and its ecosystems. Here, I offer Reiki, sound healing, and energy work while striving to grow a consistent practice. My sessions draw on all my training, but at their heart, they are about creating space for clients to heal, ground, and reconnect with their true selves.
Ultimately, I’ve learned that true change begins within. My purpose is no longer tied to business success but to being in service to others—empowering them to find peace and healing, just as I’ve found on my journey.
