I was born into a world of chaos during the Summer of Love, 1969. Miami was alive with the energy of change—people were landing on the moon, the Vietnam War was raging, and free love was sweeping the nation. My soul decided to join the party on Summer Solstice, but I crash-landed into a dysfunctional home, a place where love and joy were scarce. My father, a free-spirited entrepreneur, loved to keep the party going, while my mother, a Nicaraguan immigrant, had fled political unrest with her family. Together, they created a chaotic environment, filled with neglect, abuse, and wild gatherings.
By the age of five, I had already experienced my first major abandonment when my sister, who had been raising me, ran away from home. Not long after, my father was murdered by a stranger outside a bar, leaving my world even more shattered. The next few years were filled with emotional and verbal abuse from my stepfather, though thankfully, not physical. At 16, I ran away to live with my brother, beginning my journey of survival and self-discovery.
After high school, I dove headfirst into the fashion industry, managing retail stores and eventually studying commercial photography. Life in South Beach during the early 90s was vibrant, filled with parties, dancing, and late-night swims in the ocean. But as much fun as it was, I could feel that something was missing. I knew I had to make a drastic change to escape the lifestyle that no longer served me.
In 1994, I left Miami for Ashland, Oregon, leaping into the unknown. The cultural shift was immense, but it was the change I needed. That move set me on a path of spiritual awakening, though I didn’t know it yet. Not long after, I moved to Los Angeles, where I met my true love, Mark. We traveled together to India and Egypt in 2001, where we had profound spiritual activations, awakening something deep within us.
In 2002, we founded Conscious Creative, San Francisco’s first green-certified creative agency. Our work was fulfilling, but I started to feel another calling, one that was tied to my Starseed mission. My spiritual journey deepened after the birth of our twin sons in 2009, though we tragically lost one of them. This profound loss ignited my healing process even further, leading me to explore new spiritual modalities and connect more deeply with my guides.
In 2012, like many Starseeds, I experienced a major activation. I dove into studying energy healing, meditation, Reiki, and more, while also navigating the ups and downs of encountering false teachers. It was all part of my discernment training, teaching me valuable lessons about trusting my inner guidance.
Throughout my life, I’ve been guided by the love of my family, my connection to my guides, and my unwavering belief in the light we all carry. My journey has been one of healing, self-discovery, and deep inner work. I continue to hold space for others who are walking their own path of awakening, remembering that even in the darkest of times, our light can never be extinguished.
